Kia Sonet continues to lead the charge as the best-selling SUV for Kia in India!
Kia India recorded total domestic sales of 25,026 units in February 2025, reflecting a 23.8% year-on-year (YoY) growth compared to 20,200 units in February 2024. The company maintained a stable month-on-month (MoM) performance, selling just one unit more than January 2025 (25,025 units).
Kia Sonet Leads Sales!
The Kia Sonet remained the brand’s top-selling model, with 7,598 units sold in February 2025. However, this marked a 16.5% YoY decline from 9,102 units in February 2024. The Kia Seltos continued to perform well, registering 6,446 units in sales, a 2.8% YoY increase from the 6,265 units sold last year. The next-generation Seltos is currently in testing and is expected to debut later this year.
The newly launched Kia Syros made a strong impact, contributing 21.7% to total sales with 5,425 units sold in February. The model has already received over 20,000 bookings, indicating high demand in the subcompact SUV segment.
The Kia Carens MPV maintained steady growth, selling 5,318 units, marking a 10% YoY increase compared to 4,832 units in February 2024. The facelifted Carens has been spied testing and is set to launch soon. The Kia Carnival Limo also recorded 239 units in sales, continuing its premium positioning.
Strong Market Presence and Exports
Kia India’s top-end variants remain popular, with 46% of buyers opting for higher trims. Additionally, the company exported 2,042 units in February 2025, expanding its global presence across 70 international markets.
The brand’s strong YoY growth has been driven by the introduction of the Syros, along with sustained demand for the Seltos and Carens. Despite a decline in Sonet’s sales, Kia’s diverse portfolio and upcoming model updates are expected to keep its momentum strong in the Indian market. The automaker is also set to begin deliveries of the facelifted EV6 in the coming weeks.
