Mahindra XUV 3XO is the heavily updated version of the XUV300, offering a fresh design, upgraded features, and improved comfort. It takes on rivals like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, etc. with a more premium appeal and feature-loaded package. In this ownership review, we’ll break down real-world experiences with the XUV 3XO, highlighting performance, cabin comfort, feature usability, mileage, and overall value to help you understand if this compact SUV lives up to the hype.

Ownership Experience

The owner, Sanjeev, purchased the XUV 3XO back in June, making it almost 6 months of driving. Since the first service, the car has traveled approximately 28,800 km. The initial review was posted when the car had just begun its journey, but now after 5 months, the owner shares insights into its real-world performance and service experiences.

Service and Mileage

After the first service, Sanjeev observed that the car’s fuel efficiency was quite acceptable, despite some initial complaints from viewers. The car has provided an average of 12.7 km/l in city driving, with occasional highway trips giving even better results. The fuel economy has been consistent, even during heavy traffic conditions, and Sanjeev attributes this to his driving style, which leans toward more spirited driving when possible.

Despite heavy urban traffic, the XUV 3X0 has managed decent mileage. In bumper-to-bumper traffic, the owner reports a minimum of 10-11 km/l. For drivers who prefer a more relaxed driving style, the city mileage could reach 14-15 km/l. The car’s highway performance has been excellent, with Sanjeev achieving an impressive 18-19 km/l on long trips.

Driving Experience

The driving dynamics have been highly praised by the owner. The XUV 3X0 offers a good balance between comfort and performance, especially when compared to competitors in the same segment. Sanjeev mentions that even though there are minor vibrations at lower speeds (first and second gears), the driving experience overall remains smooth, particularly in turbo mode. Compared to other three-cylinder turbo engines in the market, the refinement and smoothness of the XUV 3X0 stand out.

Service Center and Maintenance

Sanjeev has had positive experiences with the Mahindra service center, citing that issues, such as a faulty rear AC vent, were resolved quickly. The service team was proactive, diagnosing and fixing the problem within a few hours. He notes that there was no unnecessary upselling of services, and the center was transparent with their recommendations. The overall service experience, especially in comparison to previous cars, has been satisfactory.

Quality and Features

The owner also praises the quality of the rearview camera, which he had installed at the service center. The clarity of the camera, both in daylight and at night, is commendable, providing good visibility for reversing. This feature, along with other aspects of the car’s build, adds to the overall positive impression.

Verdict

the Mahindra XUV 3X0 has proven to be a reliable and well-rounded car. Despite a few minor vibrations and small issues, the overall performance, fuel efficiency, and service experience have been impressive. The car remains a strong contender in its segment, offering excellent value for money. Sanjeev’s experience is a testament to the car’s durability and capability, making it a wise choice for those looking for a practical yet enjoyable vehicle.
