Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has issued a voluntary recall for the Honda Africa Twin adventure tourer motorcycle in India. The recall, part of a global campaign, addresses a potential malfunction caused by a programming glitch in the ECU of motorcycles manufactured between February 2022 and October 2022. While the exact number of affected units remains undisclosed, Honda is taking proactive measures to ensure rider safety.

Issue with Honda Africa Twin Adventure Tourer
The problem stems from incorrect ECU programming that could disrupt throttle operation. Specifically, the glitch may activate the wheelie control system abruptly during acceleration. This unexpected activation could lead to a loss of balance and potentially cause accidents.
To resolve the issue, HMSI will update the ECU with corrected programming at its BigWing Topline dealerships across India. The service will be provided free of charge, regardless of the motorcycle’s warranty status. Owners can check their motorcycle’s eligibility for the recall campaign by entering their unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on Honda’s official BigWing website.
