This Actor just went ahead and bought himself the Vellfire-killer Premium MPV, or did he actually bought it?

MG Motor India is gearing up to launch its premium electric MPV, the MG M9, in June this year. As the official debut nears, the vehicle has now been spotted in Mumbai — this time with Bollywood actor Aditya Roy Kapur stepping out of it, sparking curiosity among fans and media alike.

Aditya Roy Kapur Seen with MG M9

The actor was recently seen exiting the T-Series office in Mumbai, where paparazzi were already present. After briefly posing for photographs, Aditya entered the MG M9, which was parked outside the venue. As he sat inside, he asked the driver to proceed but quickly noticed that the sliding door was still open. The M9 features electrically operated rear sliding doors, and the actor appeared to search for the controls before the door finally shut and the vehicle drove away.

While several online videos and posts suggest that the actor might have purchased the MG M9, the vehicle in question carries red number plates — specifically TC plates, short for Trade Certificate. These plates are typically used by manufacturers for vehicles that are undergoing road testing or being used for media and promotional events. The registration plates confirms that it belongs to MG’s marketing or test fleet, as the brand’s manufacturing facility is based in Halol, Gujarat.

Brand Collaboration or Personal Use?

The sighting of Aditya Roy Kapur in the MG M9 could mean several things. One possibility is that the actor is testing the vehicle extensively to evaluate whether it matches his high-end lifestyle. It’s common for automakers to offer long-term test drives to celebrities and high-net-worth individuals to help them understand the comfort, features, and value of the car.

Another angle being discussed is a potential brand collaboration. While MG has not made any official announcement about signing Aditya Roy Kapur as a brand ambassador, such partnerships aren’t uncommon. Given the Kapur family’s popularity and strong public image, a tie-up could boost the M9’s appeal among luxury car buyers.

Exterior Design

The MG M9 stands out with its large proportions — 5,200mm long, 2,000mm wide, and 1,800mm tall, with a 3,200mm wheelbase — making it bigger than the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire. It sports a boxy MPV shape with a tall stance, upright nose, sleek LED DRLs, and headlamps placed lower on the bumper. At the rear, it gets sharp connected tail lamps and a roof spoiler with an integrated brake light.

Interior Layout and Key Features

The M9 offers spacious 7- and 8-seat layouts and comes packed with features like dual sunroofs, 64-colour ambient lighting, powered front and rear seats with massage, ventilation and heating, fold-out ottoman leg rests, powered sliding doors, rear entertainment screens, and Level 2 ADAS for added safety and convenience.

Battery and Motor Specifications

Internationally known as the MG Mifa 9, the M9 comes equipped with a 90kWh battery pack that powers a single electric motor mounted on the front axle. This front-wheel drive configuration produces 242 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. On a full charge, the M9 claims a WLTP-certified range of up to 430 km, positioning it as a strong, all-electric alternative in the luxury MPV segment.

Final Thoughts

The MG M9 electric MPV is shaping up to be a strong contender in India’s luxury EV space. With a spacious cabin, cutting-edge features, and all-electric performance, it aims to offer an eco-friendly yet premium experience. Whether Aditya Roy Kapur’s appearance in the M9 was part of a test drive or the beginning of a promotional partnership, the buzz around the vehicle is only growing stronger as its launch approaches.
