This strong performance covers both Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP), further reinforcing Kia’s commitment to safety in India.

Kia Syros Safety Features
The Syros comes equipped with an extensive safety package:
- 6 airbags
- Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
- ISOFIX child seat mounts
- 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all passengers
- Passenger airbag cut-off switch
- Compliant with AIS-100 pedestrian safety norms
Top variants also offer ADAS Level 2 with over 16 autonomous safety features, making the Syros one of the most well-equipped models in its class.
Kia Syros Platform and Crashworthiness
Unlike the Sonet, which is based on Kia’s K2 platform, the Syros uses the reinforced K1 platform, shared with models like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Exter. This updated version of the K1 platform features high-strength hot-stamped components, offering better crash performance and support for modern electronics and safety systems.
Syros vs Rivals in BNCAP Safety Scores
The Syros competes with other 5-star BNCAP-rated models like the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and Skoda Kylaq. Among these, the Kylaq has the highest safety score, followed by the Syros, Nexon, and XUV 3XO. Within Kia’s own lineup, the Syros now leads, as the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens previously scored only 3 stars under GNCAP testing.
Strong Sales Performance
Since its launch in January 2025, the Kia Syros has recorded 15,986 units sold in just three months:
- January: 5,546 units
- February: 5,425 units
- March: 5,015 units
This steady demand is driven by its premium design, segment-best safety features, and feature-rich package in the highly competitive sub-4m SUV segment.
