Mahindra Beats Hyundai in sales in the month of February 2025 which is 50,420 units, more by 2,693 units.

Mahindra recorded 50,420 units in total sales for February 2025, reflecting a 0.47% month-on-month (MoM) decline compared to 50,659 units in January 2025. However, the year-on-year (YoY) sales saw a significant 18.91% drop from 42,401 units in February 2024.

Scorpio and Thar Drive Mahindra’s Sales

The Scorpio and Scorpio N remained the brand’s bestsellers, registering 13,618 units in February 2025. This marked a 9.52% YoY decline from 15,051 units in February 2024 and an 11.81% MoM drop from 15,442 units in January 2025.

The Thar and newly introduced Thar ROXX posted a strong 59.12% YoY growth, with sales jumping to 9,248 units in February 2025 from 5,812 units last year. MoM, the Thar range also saw an impressive 22.38% increase, up from 7,557 units in January 2025.

The Bolero lineup, a long-time favorite in rural markets, declined 14.07% YoY, selling 8,690 units compared to 10,113 units last year. However, MoM sales remained stable, increasing by just 8 units over January 2025.

XUV 3XO and XUV700 Maintain Momentum

The XUV 3XO, which replaced the XUV300, posted an 86.37% YoY growth, selling 7,861 units in February 2025 compared to 4,218 units in February 2024. However, MoM sales declined 7.01%, dropping from 8,454 units in January 2025.

The XUV700 also performed well, recording 14.08% YoY growth, with 7,468 units sold in February 2025 compared to 6,546 units last year. However, compared to 8,399 units in January 2025, the model saw an 11.08% MoM decline.

Mahindra’s Electric Vehicle Growth

Mahindra’s electric vehicle lineup, including the newly launched XEV 9e and BE 6, saw promising numbers. The XEV 9e registered 2,205 units, while the BE 6 recorded 991 units. These are wholesale numbers, as deliveries for these models have yet to begin.

The XUV400 EV, however, faced a 47.21% YoY decline, with sales falling to 322 units in February 2025 from 610 units last year. Despite this, MoM sales increased 11.81% from 288 units in January 2025.

Final Thoughts

Mahindra’s February 2025 sales showed a mixed performance, with YoY numbers dropping despite MoM stability in key models. The Scorpio, Thar, and XUV700 continued to be strong contributors, while the brand’s EV lineup showed promising signs of growth. With new launches in the electric and SUV segments, Mahindra aims to strengthen its position in the Indian market despite shifting consumer preferences.
