The Vietnam-based company has showcased 2 SUVs at a Chennai Mall before it officially launched during the festive season!

Vietnam-based electric carmaker VinFast is preparing to enter the Indian market, and ahead of the official launch, the company has started showcasing its first electric SUVs — the VF 6 and VF 7 — at malls across major Indian cities. These public displays are part of VinFast’s roadshow campaign to generate brand awareness before commencing sales later this year.

Nationwide Roadshow to Build Customer Awareness

After their initial debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi, the VF 6 and VF 7 are now being showcased across 11 cities including Delhi, Gurugram, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Vijayawada, Kochi, and Trivandrum. Malls like Select City Walk, Ambience Mall, and various Lulu Mall locations are hosting the display units.

The VF 6 features a design theme called “Dualities in Nature,” while the VF 7 is styled with an angular approach based on “Asymmetric Aerospace.” Both models come equipped with panoramic sunroofs, LED lighting that spans the width of the SUV, and large touchscreen infotainment systems.

Manufacturing and Investment Plans

VinFast has committed an investment of USD 2 billion for its Indian operations. The company’s local manufacturing plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, will start production in July 2025. This facility will support the initial launch of the VF 6 and VF 7, with future models such as the VF e34 and VF 3 expected to follow.

In addition to production, VinFast is also setting up a robust after-sales support system in India through partnerships like the one with Global Assure.

VinFast VF 6 – Dimensions, Performance and Features

The VF 6 is a compact electric SUV measuring 4,241 mm in length. In other Asian markets, it is available in Eco and Plus variants. Both variants are powered by a 59.6 kWh battery pack. The Eco version offers 177 PS and 250 Nm of torque, while the Plus version delivers 204 PS and 310 Nm.

The VF 6 claims a range of up to 480 km under NEDC standards and does 0–100 kmph in about 8.89 seconds. Key features include a 12.9-inch touchscreen, 8-way power adjustable driver seat, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, artificial leather seats, head-up display, and a 360-degree camera. VinFast VF 7 – Larger Size and More Powerful Options

The VF 7 is a mid-size electric SUV, longer than the VF 6 at 4,545 mm with a 2,840 mm wheelbase. It is offered in three variants – Eco, Plus, and Plus AWD. The Eco variant shares the 59.6 kWh battery, while the Plus and Plus AWD use a larger 75.6 kWh battery pack. Range figures go up to 498 km (NEDC).

The VF 7 Eco makes 174 bhp and 250 Nm, the Plus delivers 201 bhp and 310 Nm, and the top-spec Plus AWD variant produces 350 bhp and 500 Nm. The VF 7 includes premium features like foldable and auto-adjusting ORVMs, rear AC vents, a fine dust filter, and an 8-speaker audio system. It also supports smart features like geofencing, online entertainment, voice commands, OTA updates, and in-car gaming.

Pricing and Launch Timeline

Indian prices for the VF6 and VF7 will be revealed closer to launch, but local production is expected to help VinFast price these EVs competitively. With production set to begin in Tamil Nadu and a full-scale roadshow underway, the VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 India launch marks a major step in the brand’s entry into one of the fastest-growing EV markets in the world.
