Hyundai Motors has launched the Creta Facelift for the Indian Market with the SUV getting numerous changes from the inside and outside, and some new features as well. So, we thought of comparing against an SUV that is big in size, the MG Hector, to see how close the Creta really get to the Hector.
The new Creta Facelift comes with new robust. exterior design like the new radiator grille, upright hood contributing towards the strong, assertive and distinct road presence, connected Sequential LED DRLs, below that is the split unit vertical Quad-Beam LED headlamp with cube-like detailing, and skid plates as bumpers. The side profile features 17-inch alloy wheel with 5-spoke curvy design, integrated roof rails, and chrome door handles. The rear section now gets new dual L-shape connected taillamps, rear spoiler, shark fin antenna, and hidden wiper with washer.
Jumping to the inside, the Facelift comes with seamlessly integrated 10.25-inch dual displays – one for infotainment system, and one for fully digital instrument cluster. Below the dual displays is the panel to control infotainment system, and dual-zone climate control. The centre console has been tweaked to make it look a little luxurious, then there is illuminated buttons around gear lever for ventilated seats, rotary dial for drives and traction modes; parking camera, two cupholders behind lever, and fixed armrest.
The dashboard has been redesigned with thin AC vents, and dual-tone theme. The rear section is split in 60:40 ratio with center armrest, and 2-step reclining option, ambient lights around the cabin, panoramic sunroof on top, and the SUV gets 8 Speaker Bose Premium Sound System. Moreover, the boot space of 433 L is the same as before, and other changes inside the cabin include lighter colours and copper details.

MG seems to take lessons from the BMW in design as the front of the Hector as now even bigger grille with chrome diamond-shape inserts in them with Dual-Functional LED DRLs joining with the grille. It retains the split headlight setup from the pre-facelift of the Hector, and as you can see at the bottom of the grille, there is the radar for the ADAS. The side profile comes with thin wheel arches, creases, and non functional roof rails, and diamond-cut 18-inch alloy wheels. Moving to the rear profile, MG has added a light bar that connects the taillamps with ADAS badging below the taillamps. The bumpers both at the front and the rear is finished in faux silver skid plate.
Now, the MG Hector, it has a very clean look as it has eliminated buttons from the dashboard and everything is operated from the 14-inch vertically positioned infotainment system. It has huge AC vents in horizontal position and also has dual-tone theme dashboard option. The Hector has it’s classic looking three-spoke multi-function steering wheel with full digital instrument cluster with a huge panoramic sunroof and button for the engine start/stop is positioned on the left side near the infotainment system. The gear lever looks similar to the Creta, with metal finish buttons before the gear level for the drive modes and other thing. The seats at the rear has 60:40 split.
So, from the outside, and the inside, the Creta looks way more premium, and luxurious while the Hector looks very spacious.

In Dimensions, the Hyundai Creta Facelift measures 4330 MM in length, 1790 MM in width, and 1635 MM in height. The MG Hector on the other hand measures 4699 MM in length which is longer by 369 MM, width of 1835 MM which is wider by 45 MM, and height of 1760 MM which is taller by 125 MM. The Creta Facelift has a wheelbase of 2750 MM, and Ground Clearance of 190 MM while the Hector has a longer wheelbase of 2750 MM (140 MM longer), and Ground Clearance of 192 MM that is just 2MM higher. The Creta Facelift has a fuel tank of 50 L which is smaller than the Hector’s 60 L, and Boot Space of 433 L which is bigger by 154 L compared to 587 L Hector Boot.

But first, the Hyundai Creta Facelift is powered by the 1.5 L 4 Cylinder Diesel generating 113.45 BHP and 250 NM of torque mated to 6 Speed Manual and Automatic Gearbox. The mileage is 19.1 KMPL on Manual, and 21.8 KMPL on Automatic Gearbox options. The MG Hector on the other hand is offered with the same 2.0 L 4 Cylinder Diesel engine producing 167.67 BHP and 350 NM of torque paired to 6 Speed Manual Gearbox with 15.58 KMPL fuel efficiency.

The Hector is paired with the 1.5 L 4 Cylinder Turbo Petrol engine producing 141 BHP and 250 NM of torque mated to 6 Speed Manual and CVT Gearbox with 12.34 KMPL mileage.
