Hyundai’s New SUV is way more modern and technologically ahead; and directly aimed at the Toyota Fortuner!
Hyundai is gearing up to launch a formidable rival to the Toyota Fortuner in India with its massive and feature-loaded SUV, the Palisade. Known for its bold presence, spacious cabin, and powerful hybrid engine, the Palisade is expected to offer more comfort, technology, and performance than the Fortuner. With plans for local production, Hyundai aims to position the Palisade as a premium yet value-driven alternative in the full-size SUV segment.
New Hyundai Palisade: Design
The new Hyundai Palisade features a bold, premium design with a boxy SUV stance and smooth curves. Up front, it sports a tall grille with five horizontal slats, vertical slatted headlamps, and a U-shaped brushed aluminum bumper. The clamshell bonnet with a rectangular indent adds road presence. On the side, it gets a large glass area, flared arches, sharp lines, and 21-inch turbine-style alloys. Silver accents on the D-pillar and roof, along with a sloping roofline and upright tailgate, enhance its profile. At the rear, vertical tail-lamps with six slats and Range Rover-inspired styling complete the look.
Inside, the new Palisade looks more luxurious than ever. The cabin uses premium materials and a layered dashboard layout. There are two wide screens placed side-by-side for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. The steering wheel has a wood finish and multiple controls, again giving a hint of Range Rover styling. Oval-shaped AC vents are placed at the corners, while the central ones sit above the climate control panel. The wide centre console has a dual-opening armrest, extra storage space, and a wireless charger. Interestingly, the console can also be lifted to create a middle seat in the front row, turning it into a 9-seater in some variants.
