Maruti Suzuki has unveiled its first electric SUV, the e Vitara, which will be launched in March to compete with the Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV, and Mahindra BE 6. The e-Vitara, inspired by the 2023 eVX concept, offers two battery options: 49kWh and 61kWh, paired with front-mounted motors producing 141 bhp and 171 bhp, respectively, with a shared torque output of 192.5 Nm. The e-Vitara showcases a muscular design with a toned-down version of its concept styling, 18-inch wheels, and a range of 10 colors with dual-tone options. Its interior boasts a unique dashboard layout, featuring a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen, a 10.1-inch digital cluster, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, and Level 2 ADAS. The SUV also includes a flat-bottom steering wheel, automatic climate control, and premium upholstery. With three drive modes and safety features like 7 airbags, ADAS, the eVitara combines practicality with cutting-edge tech to redefine Maruti’s presence in the EV segment.

Maruti Fronx Facelift

Expected Launch: 2025

The 2025 Fronx facelift will introduce Maruti Suzuki’s in-house strong hybrid powertrain (HEV), expected to deliver over 30 kmpl, making it one of India’s most efficient compact SUVs. This series hybrid system is likely to use the Z-Series 1.2 L Petrol engine as a range extender, will also expand to models like the Swift, Baleno, and Brezza. Cosmetic updates, including a revised front grille and possible interior enhancements, have been spotted on test mules. While the current Fronx already offers premium features like a HUD, 360-degree camera, and six airbags, the facelift may also introduce an ADAS suite for added safety and technology, and new features like ventilated seats.
