The compact SUV segment in India is set to heat up with four exciting launches this year. Mahindra will debut the XUV 3XO EV, while Hyundai plans to bring in the new-generation Venue; Tata will join the action with the Punch facelift, offering fresh design and upgraded features. Here’s everything we know about these 3 SUVs so far –

New-Gen Hyundai Venue
Expected Launch: October 2025

Hyundai has been spotted testing the next-generation Venue in India and in South Korea. The new Venue will undergo full redesign for both the exterior and the interiors with inspiration from the Palisade (sold internationally) while also borrowing equipments from the Creta like the Quad-Beam Headlamps. The new Venue however will retain its 3 Engine Options – 1.2 L NA Petrol, 1.0 L Turbo Petrol, and 1.5 L Diesel with transmission choice being 6 Speed Manual / Automatic, and 7 Speed DCT.

Features-wise it’ll get ventilated seats, electronic parking brake, upgraded Level 2 ADAS, possibly Panoramic Sunroof, 17-inch alloy wheels, 360 Surround View Camera, and much more.

Tata Punch Facelift

Tata will be launching the Punch Facelift for India in the second half of 2025. Design-wise the SUV will look the same as its EV counterpart except it won’t get the LED positioning lamp to give that connected LED look at the front. It’ll get split LED Headlamps, new alloy wheels design from the side. From the inside, it’ll get new 10.25-inches Digital Cluster and seat ventilation which will be exclusive to top variants. Powertrain-wise, it’ll retain the current 1.2 L 3 Cylinder Petrol and 1.2 L CNG Engines; except this time, the CNG powertrain will get the 5 Speed AMT as well making it the first SUV to come with CNG Automatic..

Mahindra XUV 3XO EV

Mahindra will soon launch the electric version of the XUV 3XO which will look identical to the ICE version in terms of looks both from the outside and the inside. It’ll have new features such as powered driver seat, ventilated front seats, etc. Additionally, the EV will come with a 35 kWh Battery Pack which should give it range somewhere between 300 – 400 KMs. Mahindra is expected to launch the SUV in the 3rd quarter of 2025.
