Volkswagen is set to launch the Tiguan R-Line in India, with pre-bookings now open. The SUV will be imported via the CBU route and boasts a sportier design, premium features, and a powerful engine.
The Tiguan R-Line sports LED Plus headlamps, an illuminated front fascia, and animated 3D LED tail lamps. It rides on 19-inch ‘Coventry’ alloy wheels with a diamond-cut finish, enhancing its aggressive stance. The exterior is further accentuated by an illuminated moulding between the headlamps, rear combination lamps, and door handle recesses. Chrome-finished air intakes and silver-anodized roof rails add to its premium appeal.
Inside, the cabin gets R-Line-inspired elements, including sports seats with ‘R’ badging, a massage function, and adjustable lumbar support. A panoramic sunroof ensures an airy ambiance, while 30-colour ambient lighting adds a customizable touch. The SUV also comes equipped with a three-zone automatic climate control system, brushed stainless steel pedals, and illuminated inserts.
The SUV measures 4,539 mm in length, 1,859 mm in width, and 1,656 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,680 mm.
The Tiguan R-Line is loaded with tech, featuring Park Assist Plus with Park Distance Control for easy maneuverability. It also offers two wireless charging pads and a digital driver interface.
Powering the Tiguan R-Line is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder TSI petrol engine producing 201 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. This unit is mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and sends power to all four wheels via Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. The SUV can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 7.1 seconds and has a top speed of 229 kmph.
Volkswagen will offer the Tiguan R-Line in six shades:
