TVS Motor Company has expanded its 125 cc scooter range with the launch of the new Jupiter 125 Dual Tone SXC variant. Priced at ₹88,942 (ex-showroom, Delhi), this new variant brings a host of updates, mainly cosmetic and feature-based, while keeping the core engine and performance figures unchanged. It sits between the drum/alloy version and the top-spec SmartXonnect trim, making it a more premium offering for style and tech-conscious buyers.

Design Enhancements

The 2025 Jupiter DT SXC comes with new visual updates, including dual-tone body panels and a redesigned flat single-piece seat. The colour options now include Ivory Brown and Ivory Grey, paired with dual-tone inner panels that match the seat’s finish. Other cosmetic highlights include a white-coloured grab rail, 3D logos, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and an LED headlamp. The all-metal ‘Metal Maxx’ body now features additional paneling for improved durability and aesthetics.

Updated Features

The standout update is the digital instrument cluster with SmartXonnect Bluetooth connectivity. The new LCD unit displays call and SMS alerts, fuel range, real-time fuel economy, trip meters, and low fuel warnings. It also supports voice commands, vehicle tracking, and turn-by-turn navigation. These updates help the Jupiter DT SXC compete more effectively with other connected scooters like the Honda Activa 125, Hero Destini 125, Suzuki Access 125, and Yamaha Fascino.

In terms of practicality, it continues to offer a front-mounted external fuel filler and a glovebox integrated into the front apron. The under-seat storage has been upgraded to 33 litres and now claims to accommodate two full-face helmets. The pillion backrest is now cushioned and included as standard, improving passenger comfort.

Engine Specs and Hardware

The engine remains the familiar 124.8 cc single-cylinder unit paired with a CVT gearbox. It produces 8.4 bhp with assist (or 8 bhp without assist) at 6,500 rpm and 11.1 Nm of peak torque at 4,500 rpm. The i-GO Assist technology helps smoothen initial throttle response, particularly in stop-go traffic. The braking setup includes a 220 mm disc at the front and a 130 mm drum at the rear, riding on beefed-up 12-inch tyres.

The scooter uses telescopic hydraulic forks at the front and twin-sided, three-step adjustable shock absorbers at the rear. With a ground clearance of 163 mm and a kerb weight of 108 kg, the Jupiter DT SXC offers a balanced ride suited for urban roads.

Final Thoughts

With the addition of dual-tone styling, upgraded comfort, and connected features via SmartXonnect, the 2025 TVS Jupiter Dual Tone SXC adds more value to the Jupiter lineup. While performance figures remain unchanged, the improved aesthetics and smart functionality position it as a more premium alternative in the highly competitive 125 cc scooter segment.
