India’s MPV segment is set to heat up with four exciting upcoming launches from Renault, Nissan, Kia, and MG. Renault is preparing to introduce the facelifted Triber with refreshed styling and updated features. Nissan will follow with its own version of the Triber-based MPV, sharing the same platform but with a unique design. Kia is gearing up to unveil the Clavis-based Carens Electric MPV, offering spacious seating with zero emissions.MG will enter the fray with the all-electric M9 MPV, aimed at premium family buyers looking for tech-loaded mobility. These MPVs will cater to budget, tech-savvy, and electric-conscious customers alike.
Renault Triber Facelift
Expected Launch: Late 2025
The 2025 Renault Triber facelift is expected to feature a refreshed front fascia with revised headlights and a sportier design, while the rear may get minor tweaks to the tail lamps and bumpers. It could introduce stylized steel or optional alloy wheels. Inside, updates may include a larger touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, automatic climate control, auto headlights, an auto-dimming IRVM, and a wireless charging pad, along with improved materials and added safety features. It will retain the 1.0L petrol engine (71 bhp, 96 Nm) with 5-speed manual and AMT options, while a turbo-petrol remains unlikely, though a dealer-installed CNG kit may be offered. With prices currently between Rs. 6.10 lakh and Rs. 8.98 lakh (ex-showroom), a major price hike is not expected, and a launch is anticipated soon as test mules have been spotted in Chennai.
Kia Carens Clavis EV
Expected Launch: EV: H2 2025
Kia last month launched the ICE derivative of Carens Clavis in India which has an SUV MPV look with design inspiration from EV5 (sold internationally). Now it’s EV counterpart will launch new alloy wheels which are EV-specific, subtle tweak in front fascia and revised bumpers. Interiors will look identical to the ICE version but minor change like new dual-tone theme, some EV-specific bits, etc. In terms of features, expect it to get Powered Tailgate, Heads-up Display, 2nd row seat ventilation. Battery Specs is expected to be the same as the Hyundai’s Creta Electric.

Triber-based New Nissan MPV
Expected Launch: H2 2025
Nissan will be launching Renault Triber based MPV which will have same dimensions. Nissan shared a teaser image on how the MPV will look. Features-wise it’ll have same as Triber like 7-inch Infotainment system, digital cluster, automatic climate control, PM 2.5 Air Filter, Rear AC Vents, cooled glovebox, etc. Engine Options will be the same of 1.0 L NA Petrol delivering 72 bhp and 96 Nm with 5 Speed Manual and AMT Gearbox.
MG 9 MPV
Expected Launch: July 2025
MG M9 electric MPV is expected to launch in India between March – April 2025, priced around Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom). First showcased as the Mifa 9 at the 2023 Auto Expo, it features a spacious three-row, 7-seater layout with luxurious second-row reclining ottoman seats offering eight massage functions. The M9 comes equipped with several premium features like three-zone climate control, seat ventilation, dual sunroofs, powered sliding rear doors, a second-row touchscreen panel, and rear entertainment screens. It sports a boxy MPV design with a full-width LED light bar, vertical tail-lights connected via an LED strip, chrome accents, and a neatly integrated front bumper. MG will initially retail the M9 through its premium MG Select outlets in 12 cities across India, targeting buyers of the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire. Unlike its competitors, the M9 features a pure-electric powertrain with the following battery specs:
