This brand is looking to refresh its SUV in a big way by introducing a generation update to end the competition in its segment!

Hyundai is getting ready for its biggest update yet, and this time, it’s not just a facelift, it’s a full generation change. Codenamed QU2i, the New 2nd Gen Hyundai Venue will bring a sharper design, a completely new interior, fresh tech, and major feature upgrades that will push it ahead in the compact SUV race. Here’s everything you need to know about the design changes, new features, and its launch timeline!

What are the Changes?

The upcoming 2nd Gen Hyundai Venue, codenamed QU2i, will bring a sharper and tougher design while maintaining its familiar boxy silhouette. Spy images show major updates at the front, including new split LED DRLs that look similar to Inster EV [sold internationally], squared-off headlamps, and a refreshed grille inspired by the Hyundai Palisade and the latest Hyundai Creta. For the first time, front parking sensors and a radar module have been spotted, confirming the addition of Level 2 ADAS features. Other visible upgrades include chunkier roof rails, thicker body cladding, dual-tone ORVMs, and sportier alloy wheels that also carry a DCT badge on the fenders.

The side profile of the new Venue gets a flatter beltline, giving it a more upright stance, while the rear is expected to feature connected LED tail-lamps, a silver-finished bumper, and a black shark fin antenna for a sportier look. Hyundai will now offer full disc brakes on all four wheels, replacing the rear drum brakes used in the current model (except for the N Line variant).

Inside, the next-gen Hyundai Venue is set for a complete makeover. The cabin is expected to feature a newly designed dashboard similar to the Hyundai Creta, with dual 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and digital instrument cluster. The centre console will be updated, along with fresh interior themes and ambient lighting options to enhance the premium feel.

What About Powertrains?

Despite speculations around phasing out diesel engines, Hyundai will continue offering the same engine options in the next-gen Venue:

  • 1.2 L NA Petrol – 82 BHP, 113.8 Nm, 5-speed manual
  • 1.0 L Turbo Petrol – 118 BHP, 172 Nm, 6-speed manual / 7-speed DCT
  • 1.5 L Diesel – 114 BHP, 250 Nm, 6-speed manual

This ensures a wide range of options catering to both city commuters and performance-focused buyers.

What About Features?

The 2nd Gen Venue will also introduce several important features that were missing earlier. It will offer front ventilated seats, a 360-degree surround view camera, front parking sensors, drive and traction modes, electronic parking brake with auto hold, Level 2 ADAS, rear window sunshades, larger 17-inch alloy wheels, a blind spot monitor, panoramic sunroof, and rain-sensing wipers, making it much more competitive in its segment.

Final Thoughts

The new-gen Hyundai Venue is expected to launch around October 2025. Prices will see a slight increase over the current starting price of ₹7.94 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will continue to rival other popular B-SUVs like the Maruti Brezza, Renault Kiger, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon, Maruti Fronx, Nissan Magnite, Kia Sonet, and the upcoming Kia Syros.
