MG has increased the pricing of its new Pro EV after receiving huge 8000 bookings in 24 Hours!

MG Motor India has launched the new MG Windsor Pro in the Indian market, receiving an overwhelming response. The electric crossover, available in the fully loaded Essence Pro trim, has secured 8,000 bookings within just 24 hours of opening reservations. This rapid demand has led to a price hike of Rs. 60,000, as the introductory pricing for the first 8,000 customers has come to an end.

MG Windsor Pro Price Update and Variants

Following the strong demand, the Windsor Pro’s price under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model has increased from Rs. 12.49 lakh to Rs. 13.09 lakh. This model allows buyers to own the vehicle without purchasing the battery, opting instead for a rental plan of Rs. 4.5 per kilometre driven. For customers who prefer complete ownership, the price has now risen from Rs. 17.49 lakh to Rs. 18.09 lakh (ex-showroom).

Upgraded Features and Specifications

The MG Windsor Pro builds on the standard Windsor’s success with several enhancements. It is powered by a larger 52.9 kWh battery pack, offering a certified range of 449 km on a single charge. The electric motor generates 134 bhp of power and 200 Nm of peak torque.

Key feature upgrades include:

  • Advanced Safety with Level 2 ADAS: Offering 12 key functions with three-stage alerts for enhanced safety.
  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) Capabilities: Allowing external device charging and even powering another EV.
  • Convenience Features: Electrically operated tailgate and ventilated front seats.
  • Design Updates: New alloy wheels and three new exterior shades – Celadon Blue, Aurora Silver, and Glaze Red.
  • Interior Enhancements: Dual-tone Black and Ivory theme with Ivory seat upholstery, 135-degree reclining rear seats, and a 2,700 mm wheelbase.

Aiming for Market Leadership

JSW MG Motor India’s aggressive strategy with the Windsor Pro is a clear effort to compete with Tata Motors for the title of India’s best-selling electric car brand. The introduction of the BaaS model has further differentiated MG from its competitors, offering customers flexible ownership options.

Rakesh Sen, Head of Sales, JSW MG Motor India, commented, “We are grateful for the overwhelming response to the MG Windsor PRO. Within just 24 hours of opening bookings, we have received 8,000 reservations—an achievement that underscores the enduring popularity of the MG Windsor and further strengthens its position as a frontrunner in India’s EV landscape.”

Final Thoughts

The MG Windsor Pro’s impressive booking numbers and subsequent price hike underline its strong demand. With upgraded safety features, a longer range, and the innovative BaaS model, the Windsor Pro is positioned to strengthen MG’s foothold in India’s electric vehicle market.
