This new Maruti SUV may be their most-featured loaded SUV while it’ll also be the most fuel-efficient model in the segment!
Maruti Suzuki has been spied multiple times testing its Grand Vitara based 7-Seater SUV which is expected to launch later this year. It’ll have upgrades over the 5-Seater SUV while having few bits shared. Let’s take a look at this upcoming Safari, XUV700 rival –
How will be the Design?
Maruti’s upcoming three-row Grand Vitara, codenamed Y17, is set to receive a number of design updates over the standard five-seater version. While it retains the overall SUV silhouette, key visual changes are expected to reflect a more mature and family-oriented appeal. Based on heavily camouflaged test mules spied during testing, the front and rear bumpers are likely to draw inspiration from the brand’s upcoming electric SUV, the eVitara. This means redesigned bumper contours, sharper body lines, and a fresh lighting signature with new LED DRLs and taillamps to give it a more enhanced look.
To accommodate the third-row seating, it seems Maruti has extended the rear overhang and possibly the wheelbase, resulting in a longer and more spacious cabin. The side profile could see subtle tweaks, flatter roofline to improve headroom for the last row, and new alloy wheels design, probably 18-inches in size. Rear doors might also be widened slightly to allow easier access to the third-row seats. Despite these changes, the SUV will likely continue with familiar design elements like its strong character lines and muscular wheel arches, ensuring it maintains the rugged look of the original Grand Vitara.
Interiors hasn’t been spied, but it’s likely it’ll be reminiscent of the 5-seater Grand Vitara, but could get upgraded equipments like the 10.25-inch Infotainment System while retaining the 7-inch Digital Cluster.

Maruti earlier has confirmed that it’ll be launching 2 new SUVs this year, one of which is confirmed to be the electric eVitara; the second SUV we suspect will be this 7-Seater SUV. We expect Maruti to launch just before the end of this year, likely in or before December. We can expect the price to be somewhere between Rs. 14 – 25 Lakhs. Upon its launch, it’ll rival the likes of Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV700, and Tata Safari.
